Port Moresby. The spirit of solidarity and humanitarianism was the key talking point at the Inclusive Education Resource Centre yesterday as the three partners of the Red Cross movement, the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), and the Papua New Guinea Red Cross Society (PNGRCS) convened to mark World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day.
Under the theme “Keeping Humanity Alive,” the commemoration served as an important reminder of the enduring commitment of the Red Cross staff and volunteers to uphold human dignity, alleviate suffering, and extend assistance to those facing dire circumstances, especially in remote and hard-to-reach areas.
The event witnessed the participation of students, staff, volunteers, and parents, embodying the inclusive spirit of the Red Cross movement. Heads and representatives from PNG Red Cross Society, the International Committee of Red Cross, and the International Federation of Red Cross were present to pay homage to this significant day in the Red Cross calendar.
