First Aid Training Program

First aid remains a core area of work for Paua New Guinea Red Cross Society. We believe first aid is a vital initial step for providing an effective and rapid intervention that can help reduce injury and suffering and improve the chances of survival. Taking immediate action and applying appropriate first aid measures makes a difference. Having high-quality, evidence-based first aid education available to Papua New Guineans contributes to building safer and healthier communities by preventing and reducing risks in daily emergency, disaster and crisis situations.

Papua New Guinea Red Cross Society is Certified under the National Council Training Registration NO: 017 to provide training to individuals, communities and businesses.

Quality First Aid Training

PNG Red Cross Aims to be the leading provider of first Aid striving to focus on the quality delivery of our first aid service.

The two categories involved in the program are the Commercial First Aid (CFA) and the Community Based First Aid (CBFA).

Registered under the National Training Council as a training provider, we have qualified First Aid Instructors in nine (9) branches who can train anywhere in PNG.

A First Aid expert from the Australian Red Cross did an audit of the First Aid Program of the PNG Red Cross Society recently. The criteria for the audit were set by the Pacific First Aid Quality Management Committee for the region. Fourteen National Societies, including the Australian and New Zealand Red Cross make up the region. The Audit revealed that the PNG Red Cross First Aid had met most of the set audit criteria.

With Red Cross you will receive the best and quality training by our qualified First Aid Instructors.

First Aiders

PNG Red Cross Society (PNGRCS) certified First Aiders are specialized in offering First Aid at an emergency.

We encourage them to join the PNGRCS as volunteers at their nearest provincial Branches.

They play a very special role in the community BEFOREDURING and AFTER an Emergency and any other special event celebrations at all levels, including sports.

One of the most important role & responsibility a First Aider must consider is the psychological support for all affected.

Firstly, it is not only the injuries that must be managed but also the casualty as a human being, as well as those affected.

PNGRCS Certified First Aiders, just like all the other volunteers around PNG, must be registered at our existing branches and are bound by the PNGRCS Volunteer Policy & Code of Conduct
